About Chef and Author David Shalleck

David is no stranger to the Mediterranean. As a member of the chef-instructor team at the Oceania Cruises Culinary Center, he has taught hand’s-on classes and led Culinary Destination Tours throughout the region. Earlier in his career, while doing internships in many of Italy’s most famous restaurants, he was the summer season chef for a prominent Italian family on board their private sailing yacht. This rare opportunity was to become the setting for his book.

David has been the chef-de-cuisine in many respectable fine-dining establishments, and has logged over 250 cooking television shows as the culinary producer for such well-known chefs as Jacques Pépin and José Andrés. Adding recipe and food product development to his vast portfolio of experience, David’s career in the food business has spanned decades. Special Requests

Oceania Cruises will accept early booking air requests by contacting us by phone or email. Include your name and booking number. If you wish to request a specific airline or a specific schedule, we can assist you. We work closely with the Oceania air department to assist you. Fees are assessed by Oceania for this service.

In the event you are planning to leave home before your cruise starts and/or stay over in your disembarkation city, you should contact us with your specific dates.

This will generate an air deviation request from Oceania Cruises. Oceania does charge a fee for this service. Fees will be explained by us.

Book Your Own Air

Oceania Cruises is contracted with most major airlines for rates that are included in your “FREE AIR” promotion.

If you wish to book your airfare on your own, you may request a credit. The amount of the credit will vary with each date and itinerary. We can assist you with the air credit rate.

Oceania Cruises does not participate in “miles” programs. If you wish to use miles through your airline or credit card, let us know you wish to take the Oceania air credit.
